Good point Leolaia, Jehovah is testing us, if we will trust such archeological discoveries or rather put faith in him...! Thats another proof the end is very near! Let us remain faithfull...!

African continent is falling apart... Why does Jehovah lets this happen?

ok, i understand jehovah doesnt get involved in an "grand issue" reagrding human goverments, but why does he let africa fall apart?

is not the earth perfect?.

African desert rift confirmed as new ocean in the making

In 2005, a gigantic, 35-mile-long rift broke open the desert ground in Ethiopia. At the time, some geologists believed the rift was the beginning of a new ocean as two parts of the African continent pulled apart, but the claim was controversial.

A new Ocean forming in the centre of Africa, now I really do find that coool!

Now, scientists from several countries have confirmed that the volcanic processes at work beneath the Ethiopian rift are nearly identical to those at the bottom of the world's oceans, and the rift is indeed likely the beginning of a new sea.

The new study, published in the latest issue of Geophysical Research Letters, suggests that the highly active volcanic boundaries along the edges of tectonic ocean plates may suddenly break apart in large sections, instead of little by little as has been predominantly believed. In addition, such sudden large-scale events on land pose a much more serious hazard to populations living near the rift than would several smaller events, says Cindy Ebinger, professor of earth and environmental sciences at the University of Rochester and co-author of the study.

It doesn't say how the rift will form into an ocean, or where the water will come from, but it's still amazing.

It's not often in the history of Earth that people can say they witnessed the birth of a new Ocean!

A BGS team are mapping the geology of the Afar desert in northern Ethiopia — reputed to be the hottest place on Earth.

Afar is part of the volcanically and seismically active portion of the African Rift and is one of the few places on Earth where we can witness plate divergence as the continental crust splits apart to form a new ocean.

The Afar Rift project aims to track the creation of magma (molten rock) from deep within the Earth, studying how it migrates and evolves as it rises towards the surface. We will study how the surface of the Earth reacts as it is thinned and split apart and how the magma is intruded into this thin crust to form the beginnings of a new ocean.

So it looks like the Rift will widen, eventually splitting the continent, becoming an ocean.

CO asked my wife to wash his laundry...

well this happened some 9 years ago, while we were very active and busy in the congregation..... (in my country - eastern europe - there are no laundromats and most people have their washers at home...).

the co was single (age 45?

) and after one of the meetings he came to my wife with a plastic bag full of laundry and asked my wife politely if she could wash it for him till the next meeting.

A guest: I would very nicely and politely explain him the same point today.....

but that happened 9-10 years ago when I was a completely brainwashed, not able to think and make my own decisions for myself when it came to JW life and issues.

It seemed to me kind a weird at that time... BUT HE WAS THE C.O.!!!!! HE WAS THE GIFT FROM JEHOVAH!!!!! WHAT A PRIVELEDGE TO SERVE HIM .... WE JUST GO TO WORK EVERY DAY 10 HOURS AND THEN MUST TAKE CARE OF THE HOUSE, BUT HIM.... HE MUST GO OUT IN SERVICE EVERY DAY FOR 4 HOURS AND THEN RELAX HOME AND MEDITATE ON SPIRITUAL ISSUES.... WHAT A BLESSING TO SERVE HIM!!!!!!!

again please fill in the blanks.... in my experiance, a window cleaner, skinny to the point of skin and bones, no real education but belives that everything he tells you is true if it comes from the borg, views the sisters as toliet cleaning minons and gets a real kick out of climbing the jw rank ladder!.

Has whatever kind of low paying job. In case he somehow manages to get a high paying job (even if deosnt have to work any extra hours), he is supposed to quit it, and to look for some much lees paying, no matter he has to work weekends and nights.

And as a reward he will be able to give an interview at next circuit assembly how he puts spiritual things first. And that is worth it right?

You thing it doesnt make sense??? Well did you ever try to brainwash and mind control several million of succesfull ad selfconfident people? Cmon.. give me a break, all you really need is to push their selfconfidence down.... then sqeez it ... and crush it .... and tear it apart yeeeeaasss now its much more easy.....
